Serial Port Definitions
Note: [Text] = Item only exists under given circumstance.
• Serial Port Attributes :
◊ GPIa is connected to DCDa = Does the modem port provide handshaking
on pin 7 of the connector in addition to pins 1 and 2?
◊ GPIb is connected to DCDb = Does the printer port provide handshaking
on pin 7 of the connector in addition to pins 1 and 2?
◊ GPIa is connected to RTxCa = Does the modem port provide support for
devices with separate data clocks, such as synchronous modems?

• Port Configuration :
◊ Configuration Type = Specifies the configuration, either serial (on either
port) or AppleTalk (just on the printer port). For AppleTalk, the
version is also specified
◊ Baud = For serial only, the number of bits per second transmission speed [Not
AppleTalk]
◊ Parity = For serial only, the parity [Not AppleTalk]
◊ Bits/Char = For serial only, the number of bits/char recognized [Not
AppleTalk]
◊ Stop Bits = For serial only, the number of stop bits [Not AppleTalk]
◊ Modem Data; = For serial only, a dump of all the info registers in any
modem that is connected and turned on. [Not AppleTalk] [Checking On]
